UK - Karkidaka Vavubali rituals at Kent Ayyappa temple in London, England. The Vavubali began on Thursday, Karkidaka Vavu day, at 11:30 am. Amidst the chanting of hymns that uplifted the memory of the ancestors, hundreds of devotees reached the banks of the Rochester River Medway in Kent and purified their bodies and minds and offered sacrifices to their ancestors and gurus. The devotees offered themselves in the river in rows from 3:30 pm to attain Pitrumoksha, which was specially prepared by the officials of the Kent Ayyappa temple for the sacrifice. The organizers had arranged extensive facilities for the devotees in advance, so there was no rush.  The ceremony, which began in the morning on the river bank, was presided over by the temple's chief priest, Sri Abhijithirumeni. The ceremony of the Thilahavanam and temple pujas was co-performed by Vadakke Veliyillam Sri Vishnu Ravi Thirumeni and Thazhur Mana Sri Harinarayanan Thirumeni. The temple office bearers led the way.
